Police Incidents

Franklin

Battery

2125 N. Morton St., Walmart: A loss prevention employee reported at 11:27 a.m. Saturday that a man was concealing video games and other items in his shopping cart. Once the employee confronted the man, the man poked the employee in the nose and later slapped him across the face. The man was arrested for battery and taken to jail.

Criminal Mischief

2354 N. Morton St., Meijer Fuel Center: A woman reported at 5:03 a.m. Monday that while she was filling her vehicle up with gas and she heard gas leaking from her tank and when she looked she found that someone had drilled two holes in her gas tank.

Domestic Battery

390 Branigin Blvd., Franklin Pool: An employee reported at 3:42 p.m. Saturday that a mother beat her child and the child was bleeding.

Property-damage crashes

9:15 a.m. Saturday — Jefferson St. and Water St.

6:24 p.m. Friday — Fairway Lakes Drive and Longest Drive

Theft

5115 Warrior Trail, Loves Travel Center, Whiteland: Reported at 7 a.m. Saturday that two women had stolen items then left the store and fled in a blue vehicle.

Greenwood

Battery

2252 U.S. 31 S., McDonald’s: Reported at 2:55 p.m. Friday that a battery with injury had occurred.

Criminal Mischief

887 E. Main St., Intown Suites: Reported at 6:54 p.m. Sunday that criminal mischief had occurred.

Fraud

2000 block of Leeward Court: Reported at 3:56 p.m. Friday that a fraud had occurred.

Narcotics

W. County Line Road and N. Madison Ave.: Reported at 11:29 p.m. Saturday that a man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and driving while suspended with prior conviction.

W. County Line Road and N. Madison Ave.: Reported at 11:07 p.m. Saturday that a man was arrested under a summons for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Property-damage crashes

8:15 a.m. Friday — Morton St. and Hospital Road

5:36 a.m. Friday — Rocklane Road and Campbell Road

12:35 a.m. Thursday — 1000 block of Old State Road 37

Thefts

1001 N. State Road 135, Red Dog Books: Reported at 12:47 p.m. and 1:08 p.m. Saturday that shoplifting had occurred.

1251 U.S. 31 N., JC Penney: Reported at 12:43 p.m. Saturday that a man was issued a summons to appear in court for theft.

Johnson County

Narcotics

7000 block of W. State Road 135, Morgantown: An officer reported at 8:39 p.m. Sunday that during a traffic stop for speeding he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver admitted to having a marijuana joint in the vehicle and was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and issued a warning for speeding.
